Brevard SA

Hello recreational coaches,

Whether you are new to coaching or have been volunteering for years, we here at Brevard SA would like to thank you for your volunteerism and commitment to the kids of Brevard SA. Below are some resource materials to help you organize your team, who to contact with questions, and some helpful links to develop your teams' skills.

Step 1:

It is mandatory that you complete a background check and concussion test for every season, so even if you completed this last fall or spring, you must do it again. (Background checks are valid from 1 August - 30 June)

Please register as a coach here.  This will automatically take you through the background check.

Step 2:

After you complete the background check, please login to your coaches' account and complete the CDC concussion course. Directions on how and where to find it are here

Step 3:

You will receive an e-mail with your team logon information within 48 hours. If you do not receive an e-mail with your team logon information, please contact the registrar

Step 4:

Determine what night you would like to have practice and the time frame, you will then contact the general manger and request your preferred time and day, please have an alternate time and/or day in case your first choice is not available.

Step 5:

Contact your team via your GotSoccer account or personal e-mail notifying that you have volunteered to coach the team, the day and time you will be having practices and of course any other information you would like to share e.g. expectations, best way to communicate, background. You will also want to make sure that everyone has a uniform or has ordered a uniform. After a player registers, they will receive a link directing them to order their players uniform. This link is unique and takes the parent to that players' information so you cannot forward the link from another player. If the parent has not received a link, they are to contact the general manager.

Step 6:

Make sure the treasurer has you correct address to mail referee checks. You will receive a notice from the treasurer asking for this information, please respond immediately to make sure you receive your funds in a timely manner.

Step 7:

Release your game schedule, PLEASE check this every week for the first few weeks as teams are often added or removed or have conflicts. Usually by the 3rd/ or 4th week the schedules are set except for rain outs.

Step 8:

Have fun! Remember this is recreational soccer, you are the instrument in encouraging all players of all levels to participate equally and enjoy the soccer experience.
