Brevard SA Appoints Executive Director
I am pleased to announce Roby Stahl as the first Executive Director of Brevard SA. Roby, who has an extensive background in soccer, has come to Brevard SA after running very large and successful clubs in Georgia and Ohio. As one of the first Americans to play and coach professionally in Europe (as well as in the US), his soccer expertise ranges from coaching/teaching young players to collegiate coaching.
As a young player he was identified by the USMNT U17s, the US Olympic teams, and concluded with an international and domestic professional playing career. He was involved with the USWNT for the 1991 FIFA World Championship that took place in China. Roby was the Orlando Deputy Competition Manager for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and involved with the US 1994 FIFA World Championship committee. He has also represented the US as the liaison for the 1992 EUFA championships while living and coaching in Stockholm, Sweden.
A US Soccer ‘A’ licensed coach, with additional licenses in Brazil, Sweden, and Canada, Roby has been involved in running and teaching courses for the US Soccer Federation. He is a frequent featured clinician for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and involved in consulting with several clubs and soccer educational organizations in the US and in Haiti, Jamaica, and Barbados. Roby currently serves on the NSCAA’s educational sub-committee. As a coach he has had over 120 players attend Division One Universities, with many playing for Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs. While coaching in Sweden he had nine players represent their countries in the Olympics and World Championships
From Executive Director Stahl:
“I am extremely excited to live in Melbourne and have found the people friendly and the club willing to become a major player in Florida youth soccer. Success does not come overnight, but is a result of long-term planning and having a vision for the future. I have both the patience and the vision for what Brevard SA will become over the next 5 years. It is important that a family atmosphere and our soccer educationally correct curriculum grow daily. We will attract higher-level coaches and invest in all coaches’ education from the onset, which will result in better soccer programs and better prepared players.”
Roby will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities associated with club administration and soccer operations. Please join me in welcoming Roby to the Melbourne area and to Brevard SA. I look forward to seeing the results of Roby’s leadership and experience in our administrative and coaching staff, and most importantly in our players.

Phoenix Cup 2017 presented by Brevard SA
The Phoenix Cup is in it's 9th year, and has become one of the preeminent November tournaments. We continue to be one of the best, yet least expensive, tournaments. Last year we had over 130 teams in the tournament. Pool games, for most teams, will take place all day on Saturday & end on Sunday morning. Finals will be played on Sunday afternoon. The tournament will include Friday night games, which are a great option for coaches with multiple teams as well as local teams. It's held the weekend prior to Thanksgiving so you can enjoy some well deserved family time over the holidays. For those who want a tune-up going into the Thanksgiving tournament weekend, we can satisfy that desire too. All 9-14u boys' and girls' competitive & Academy teams are welcome. Where possible, two or more divisions will be offered; Gold, Silver, and Bronze. All profits from the tournament are put back into the club to support training, scholarships, uniforms, etc. Registration closes midnight Monday November 6th . The Phoenix Cup is sanctioned by Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) and is open to all US Soccer members (US Club Soccer, AYSO, USSSA).
Fees (including referee fees):
- 9/10u (7v7) - $450
- 11/12u (9v9) - $500
- 13/14u (11v11) - $550
